Abby Hennessey

Researcher

Abby is a Qualitative Researcher with a background in children’s social work. Abby works largely on implementation and process evaluations at WWCSC. This involves understanding the context, assessing fidelity and quality of implementation, and understanding the mechanisms of change.

She has particular interest in interventions which seek to address working conditions and workforce issues for children’s social care staff. She sees a valued, confident workforce as a key mechanism to achieving positive outcomes with children and families.

Abby has previously worked in a safeguarding and care planning team and within a multi-agency safeguarding hub. She recently graduated from the LSE with an MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology and holds a BA in Social Work from the University of York.

Outside of work, Abby loves all things creative, being outside in nature, and visiting her family up North.
