Abby Hennessey

Research Assistant

Abby will be working on evaluating the Strengthening Families Protecting Children (SFPC) programme.

Abby holds a BA in Social Work from the University of York and has two years’ post-qualifying experience in statutory children’s social work. Abby completed her ASYE at Northamptonshire County Council in a long-term children’s safeguarding and care planning team. Abby also has experience as an agency social worker at Lancashire’s multi-agency safeguarding hub.

Abby recently decided to return to university to study organisations, from a psychological perspective, to explore how they function and can be improved. Abby now holds a MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Abby is passionate about creating the conditions to allow high quality social work to flourish, with particular interest in systemic thinking and cultural change.

Abby loves exploring London in her free time and enjoys visiting her family up North.
