David Westlake

Research Fellow, CASCADE at Cardiff University

David has worked in social work research for several years, and recently led a large evaluation in an inner London authority as part of the innovation project. He is interested in research that makes a difference in practice, and has a particular interest in observational methods.

At the WWC he is currently leading the 6 change projects, working with local authorities across England.

David has published widely in journals and books, and regularly speaks about his research at conferences. He is also an Associate Editor of the Journal of Children’s Services.
David holds an MPhil in Criminology from Cambridge University.

Outside of work he can be found rock climbing or mountain biking.
