Kate works as a POD Manager for Brighton and Hove Children’s Services. Her work (leading 7 SWs) covers the whole “child’s journey” from FDFF through to Permanence for children – including children looked after.
She started out in Social Work in her early 20s – left it for 15 years and worked as a leader in corporate HR and training – spent time travelling – before meeting her now partner – in China. A daughter followed all too quickly – followed by a decade living and working between China and the UK.
Social Work called her back 6 years ago and she holds a twin love for relationship-based change, and finding out what works best to achieve sustainable improvement for children. As Kate get older – what matters is making a difference. The EA job is a great chance to help make that difference, – while building a community beyond her city by the sea.
In her spare time she loves endurance sport – sea swimming (even in the winter) and running. Sometimes she does them together in one long Swinrun adventure.
