Evidence Summaries
As part of our work with the Independent Review of Children’s Social Care (IRCSC) we created a series of Evidence Summaries. These were designed and written as brief notes intended to give IRCSC a quick overview of some of the evidence on a particular topic or question. They have not been conducted or written as rapid reviews, systematic reviews or comprehensive literature reviews and are only being published for transparency.
Given their limited scope, are not intended as a resource for wider purposes.
Evidence Summaries
- The long term impact of adversity
- What is the impact of family support/preventative services?
- What is the impact of high-quality relationships on the development and outcomes of a child who has experienced adversity and/or trauma?
- Intergenerational cycles of significant adversity
- Is there a typology we can apply to children who are in contact with children’s social care?
- Mental health of children and young people in care
- Direct payments
- How are non-professional relationships associated with outcomes for children with a social worker?
- Kinship Care
