The Community and Primary Care Research Group at the University of Plymouth uses a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods to address pressing and often complex research problems in health and social care. Its research is often directed towards traditionally marginalised groups and much of it involves developing and evaluating complex interventions, with a strong emphasis on person-centred approaches. In addition to applying established evaluation methods, including randomised controlled trials, the group is at the forefront of efforts to develop and use innovative methods, such as realist evaluation and rapid cycle design and testing.
