Danielle Mason

Director of Education, Royal Society of Arts

Danielle started her career at the University of Oxford, working on the Index of Multiple Deprivation, before moving to the Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion to evaluate poverty-alleviation and welfare-to-work programmes. As a civil servant, she then contributed to the development of the poverty measures included in the 2010 Child Poverty Act, led the child poverty research programme and helped to establish the Social Mobility Commission. She became Cabinet Office Head of Profession for Social Research, and led the Cabinet Office ‘What Works’ team. After four years as the Head of Research at the Education Endowment Foundation she has recently joined the RSA as a Research Director.
