Lucy Morton

Senior Development and Impact Manager in the NSPCC Children’s Services Directorate

Lucy leads a team of Development Managers who oversee the development and testing of innovative practice approaches for children who have experienced abuse and neglect delivered from 29 Service Centres across the UK.

Lucy is a qualified social worker with over 25 years’ experience in the child protection field. Lucy’s early career was within fieldwork and management roles based in disadvantaged communities in Glasgow. Prior to Lucy’s current role she was employed as Service Manager for the NSPCC in Scotland, and set up a new, multi-disciplinary team delivery high quality services for children and families in the West of Scotland.

Lucy has particular interests in increasing the evidence base for interventions with maltreated young children and their families and the application of infant mental health perspectives within community settings and foster care.

More recently Lucy has developed a growing interest in preventive, place based approaches and community and user lead initiatives.
