Launched in 2016, the Nottingham Centre for Children, Young People and Families is based in the School of Social Sciences at NTU with membership that spans the entire University. Our mission: to improve the experiences and outcomes of children and young people growing up in Nottingham and beyond. We bring together 80+ academics from a wide range of disciplines including education, sociology, criminology, psychology, politics, social work, health, youth studies, and law, tackling major issues from early years to later life. Alongside the interdisciplinary strength of our network, we bring world-class methodological expertise ranging from advanced secondary data analysis to innovative participatory action research and ethnography, engaging participants in the co-production of research and evaluation at every stage.
