Having studied in Finland and Germany, Dr Hofmann completed her PhD in Cambridge as Gates scholar. She went on to win two post-doctoral research scholarships, as well as working as Post-doctoral Research Associate on two large-scale ESRC-funded research projects focused on educational effectiveness. As University Lecturer at Cambridge, Dr Hofmann leads a research group investigating sustained change in professional practice in educational and healthcare settings. Dr Hofmann has obtained multiple national and international inter-disciplinary research grants and works with research groups in Scandinavia, Germany, Netherlands and Mexico. Dr Hofmann is steering group member of the Cambridge Educational Dialogue Research Group (CEDiR) and Deputy Masters Programme leader at her Faculty. As expert member of the cross-Whitehall Policy Trials Advice Panel and Strategy group member at Cambridge Postgraduate Medical Centre, she regularly advises the Cabinet office, Government departments, the NHS and other public sector organisations on research-informed development and evaluation.
