Stephen Morris is Professor of Evaluation at the Policy Evaluation and Research Unit, Department of Sociology, Manchester Metropolitan University. Stephen has been conducting quantitative impact evaluations for more than 20 years, in a diverse range of substantive areas including children and youth services, education, welfare reform and crime and justice. Stephen is a member of the UK government trials advisory panel and works with a number of the government’s what works centres including the Education Endowment Foundation and Early Intervention Foundation. Formerly Head of Evaluation at NatCen Social Research, where he remains a Research Associate, Stephen has previously worked at the Policy Studies Institute and the Institute for Employment Studies, and earlier in his career as a research advisor for the UK Government.
